Assembly investigate suspension of 11 students at Nsutaman High School

Nsuta (Ash), May 12, GNA- The Sekyere Central District Assembly has mandated its Social Service Sub-Committee to investigate the circumstances leading to the suspension of 11 students of the Nsutaman Senior High School this year.

The Assembly took the decision at its emergency meeting at Nsuta at the weekend, after Mr Lawrence Kodua Frimpong, the Assembly's representative on the school's Board of Governors made known the development at the school to the assembly. He said three second year students were alleged to have smoked Indian Hemp on the school compound while four final students and a first year student were also spotted drinking alcohol at a bar in Town. Two other final year student were arrested and handed over to the school authorities by a palm wine taper for harvesting half-bucket full of his palm-wine whiles another student stabbed two of his colleagues with a knife without any provocation .

The Assembly Members expressed its shock about the behaviour of the students especially at a time when the government and other stakeholders were investing huge sums of money towards the provision of infrastructural facilities including class-room blocks, equipment and others to the only Senior High School in the District. 13 May. 08
