"Din- Pa-Ye" Tailors Association unhappy

Kumasi, Feb. 20, GNA - The "Din-Pa-Ye" Tailors Association in Kumasi on Wednesday expressed concern about the deplorable conditions at the Kumasi Central Market and said the situation was affecting members of the association as well as other traders in the market. Mr Daniel Osei, Chairman of the association, addressing a press conference in Kumasi, expressed regret about the absence of water hydrants, places of conveniences as well as urinals. He said electricity connections at the market were prone to fire because of careless wiring by unauthorized electricians, cables hang loosely at certain places and explosives and flammable items are not properly stored. Mr Osei appealed to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to endorse the establishment of Smallholder Management Committees to improve the facilities at the market. He suggested that a 15-member Zonal Committees should be formed to identify and discuss sanitation, health, security and maintenance of infrastructure at the market.
