Accra, Sept. 14, GNA - Mr. Albert Kan-Dapaah, Minister of Defence on Friday visited pupils of Garrison Cluster of Schools at Burma Camp, as part of this year's 'My first day at school programme.' He asked the pupils to be always punctual to school and draw their teacher's attention to their difficulties especially during classes. The schools visited were the Burma Camp Basic School, Kotoka Basic School, Air Force Basic School and Garrison Basic School. Mr Kan-Dapaah urged the pupils to respect their teachers and also take their lessons seriously, saying it was the only way they could become responsible.

"To become a doctor, a teacher or a soldier, you need to work very hard in order to achieve that", he said.

The Minister distributed stationery, cups and sweets to pupils in class one.

Colonel Kennedy Osei Kwadwo, Director of Education, Ghana Armed Forces Education Unit, expressed appreciation to the Minister for the visit, which he described as an encouragement to the children.
