Ho warms up for March 6 with a walk

Ho, March 3, GNA - Hundreds of students, security personnel, Youth clubs and heads of departments, ministries and agencies on Saturday embarked on a health-walk in the Ho Township as a prelude exercise towards the climax of the country's 50th anniversary celebrations on March 6.

The two-hour exercise which was organized by a Ho based Miracle Health Gym in connection with the country's 50th anniversary saw the people walk through some principal streets of Ho in Ghana @ 50 paraphernalia amidst the singing of patriotic and "jammah" songs. Mr Joseph Kwaku Nayan, Deputy Volta Regional Minister who represented the Regional Minster expressed gratitude for the positive response from the public in partaking in the walk, which he said is an indication of an excellent celebration.

He underscored the need for the participants to show gratitude for the country's 50 years journey from independence to date without any form of civil war or serious disaster.

Mr Nayan however urged the people not to be carried away by the celebrations but to also use the occasion to ponder on the country's past, present and future.

Mr Mawutor Goh, Ho Municipal Chief Executive called on the people to come out again in their numbers to participate in the other events earmarked for the celebrations.

He said some of the events outlined for the programme includes "fire works', street jams and musical concerts among others and called on the public to take advantage of the programmes to enjoy themselves. The Regional Director of Education, Regional Police Commander and Regional Chief Imam graced the exercise. 03 March 07
