On Friday, December 12, 2025, the Member of Parliament for the Salaga-South Constituency, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, hosted a delegation of students from Salaga Senior High School at Parliament House in Accra.

The delegation was led by Madam Milatu Tahiru, a staff member of the school.

The visit formed part of the students’ participation in the 2025 National Public Speaking Competition, organised under the auspices of the Speaker of Parliament and held at the Parliament of Ghana.

Salaga Senior High School earned its place at the national level after emerging winners of the Savannah Regional Competition.

The competition was held under the theme “Sexual and Reproductive Health of the Adolescent Child”, with contestants delivering presentations aligned with the topic.

The national finals brought together students from six senior high schools across the country, including Accra Academy, Osei Tutu Senior High School, Swedru Senior High School, Sunyani Senior High School, Bechem Presbyterian Senior High School and Awaso STEM Senior High School.

At the close of the competition, Sunyani Senior High School was crowned overall winners, while Salaga Senior High School was recognised as the Most Promising School.

Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah congratulated the Salaga Senior High School students for their remarkable achievement at the regional level and for qualifying to represent the Savannah Region at the national stage.

She also commended them for their confidence, eloquence and impressive performance during the finals held in Parliament.

In response to a request for financial assistance to support transportation and other logistical needs, the Member of Parliament presented an amount of Three Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢3,000.00) to the school.

Zuwera further reiterated her commitment to improving educational infrastructure in the Salaga-South Constituency.

She disclosed plans to support the provision and upgrading of ICT facilities, science laboratories, classroom blocks and accommodation at Salaga Senior High School and T. I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School.

These initiatives, she noted, form part of her broader agenda to enhance teaching and learning outcomes across the constituency.
