Zoomkids embarks on community Sensitization route march in Wa

Wa, July 8, GNA - Zoomkids clubs from eight schools in the Wa Municipality have embarked on a community sensitization route march to create public awareness on the need to keep the environment clean. The exercise, which forms part of activities lined up for the variou s clubs in their respective schools, is aimed at changing negative attitude s towards sanitation and also to create awareness on the existence of such clubs. Over seven hundred students from both Primary and Junior High school s carried placards bearing messages in the local dialect and English to educate the public on proper environmental sanitation practices. They were accompanied by the Municipal School Hygiene Education Programme (SHEP) Coordinator, Madam Christine Kunlen, and the Regional Zoomlion's Environmental Sanitation Supervisor, Mr. Edmond Vidjah as well as patrons of the various clubs. The 13 schools which are currently benefiting from the Zoomkids initiative in the Wa Municipality have been presented with wheelbarrows, shovels, brooms, hand gloves, nose masks and Wellington boots by Zoomlion

for their clean-up exercises for this school term. Mangu Methodist Primary and Junior High School (JHS), Wa Numa International School, St. Aidan Anglican Primary and JHS, Wa School for t he Deaf and Dump, Fountain Gate Academy and Our Home International School we re the first schools to undertake the exercise.
