Youth laud President's nominee for Mayor of Tamale metropolis

Concerned Youth of Tamale (CYT) has lauded President Mahama's nominee Hanan Gundadow Abdul-Rahman as Mayor of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly (TMA).

In a press statement signed by Chairman of the group, Chief Sibri Zaachi, stated they have received the nomination of Mr. Hannan Gundadow Abdul-Rahman with open arms.

“It is our belief that the nomination is in furtherance of that [Better Ghana] objective and the personal pledge of the president in seeing to the transformation of the city as a place where business blossoms; where traditions and cultures find expression in governance; and where security is assured”, the statement said.

CYT noted the experiences of Mr. Abdul-Rahman would go a long way to transform the city and establish the vision of the president for Tamale.

“We want to pledge our unalloyed support and endorsement to this nomination and hope that Almighty Allah will grant the nominee the wisdom and courage to fulfill all the planned projects within the Metropolis in his tenure of office”

The group added that the support for the nominee will be resolute and any other engagements with him in the future will be a collaborative effort aimed at implementing development projects for the sole purpose of alleviating poverty, creating jobs and sustained improvement of the living conditions of the people of Tamale in particular and beyond.

It finally called all persons hailing from Tamale and those that are passionate about the transformation of the Northern Regions generally, to come on board to make Tamale Ghana’s most habitable city.

President John Mahama on Monday nominated 29 more Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

The nominations are in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Government Act 1993 (Act 462).
