Youth group donate hearse, cement to communities

Two communities in the Sagnarigu Municipality and Nanton District of the Northern Region have received a hearse to help in transporting the dead for burial.

Members of one other community in the Savelugu Municipality, which was hit by the recent floods, also received 100 bags of cement to rebuild their structures.

The communities that received the hearse were Jana and Gbanyamni whiles members of Nakpanzo community received the bags of cement.

The Coalition of Sagnarigu Municipal and Nanton District Youth Network for Development under the Community Youth Network for Development, Ataaya base donated the items to the communities lessen their plight.

Mr Fuseini Yakubu Jacob, Acting President and Public Relations Officer of Community Youth Network for Development, who handed over the items to the beneficiaries communities at Jana, said the absence of a hearse made it difficult for members of the communities to convey the dead to cemetery for burial hence the support.

He assured that the youth group would continue to remain community-focused and work towards bringing development to the communities.

Janakpeng Naa Alhaji Adam Ibn Alhassan, Chief of Jana, lauded the youth group for their efforts at bringing development to the communities advising them to remain united to achieve more success.

Alhaji Ibn Allhassan appealed to traditional authorities to promote peace in their various communities urging them to use their positions to influence the youth to venture into worthy causes rather than chieftaincy disputes.
