The Divisional Chief of Prestea-Himan, Nana Nteboah Prah IV and the Divisional Chief of Bogoso, Nana Kwasi Sompre II have both commended the Member of Parliament for Prestea-Huni Valley Constituency of the Western Region, Hon. Mrs. Barbara Oteng Gyasi, for making them feel proud as well as showing signs of good leadership and maturity in her one-year-old mantle as Legislator.

Hon. Mrs. Lawyer Barbara Oteng-Gyasi who defeated the then incumbent District Chief Executive, Hon. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe in last year's polls and became the first female Parliamentarian in the Prestea-Huni Valley Constituency received the commendations early yesterday when she paid special visits to the palaces of the respective Chiefs to thank them for their continual support to her, his DCE as well as the government.

At Himan palace, Nana Nteboah Prah IV remarked, “when you were voted, you were elevated as Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural resources, and not only, I must say it wasn't an easy task, looking at the government’s intention of clamping down on illegal mining in order to save our environment for generations unborn. But I must say, you have shown good sign of leadership and maturity”.

At Bogoso palace, Nana Kwasi Sompre honoured the MP as "Wassa Hemma" and called his chief linguist to pour libations and pray for the Deputy Minister for heeding to all the advice she received from them and obeyed them as such.

They prayed for her success in her endeavours as well as that of the DCE, Hon. Mozart Kweku Owuh.

The Member of Parliament, Lawyer Barbara Gyasi further elaborated many of the opportunities she has been pushing for her Constituency, such as the 1D1F, investment in Sankofa Gold, plans towards roads construction, as well as the call for the creation of additional District/Constituency for the good people of Prestea-Huni Valley.

She also appealed for support of the chiefs to help her government in 'MMIP programme' as it will be beneficial to the people.

The Chiefs also pledged to support the M.C.E, Hon. Mozart K. Owuh whenever he calls on them.
