Yilo Krobo Lobbying for the Eastern Region Affordable Housing Project

A leading member of the ruling NDC and a Board Member (Director) of Precious Minerals Marketing Company, Hon. Michael Ologo has appealed to the Government to allocate some of the housing projects at the Yilo Krobo Municipality in the eastern Region.
Hon. Michael Ologo made the appeal shortly after Government announced the approval of a 4,120-unit affordable apartment scheme for public servants across all ten regions. The project is expected to be rolled out before December.

The Project will be financed by a loan through the Barclays UK, backed by the UK government’s Export Credit Guarantee Department (ECGD) at a rate of 2.25% per annum.

According to Mr. Kwesi Baidoo, MD for Italconstruct, the company in charge of the projects “All the paperwork [with government] has been done. The only thing that we are waiting for is the signing of a loan agreement which will happen pretty soon”.

Meanwhile, Land for the Greater Accra project has been allocated at Prampram, while paper work for locations of the project in the other regions –notably Ashanti, Eastern, Western and Northern regions – are ongoing.
Hon. Michael Ologo, a Prince of the Royal Ologo family has assured the Government of land availability, obligatory and voluntary vibrant workforce, and community participation in the Yilo Krobo Municipality.
