Yawkwei water project near completion

The construction of a small town water project to provide the people of Yawkwei in the Asante-Akim South District with uninterrupted water supply is progressing steadily.

About 95 percent of the Government-funded projects had now been completed, and the contractors had expressed optimism that the deadline would be met.

Mr Francis Tetteh, Chief Executive of Safe Water Network, the company, undertaking the job, said they were within schedule.

He gave this assurance when the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr De-graft Fokuo, led some senior officers’ of the assembly to inspect the project.

The DCE said he was satisfied with the pace and quality of job done and urged the contractors to do everything to complete the project in early December to end the perennial water problem faced by the community.

He rallied the people to continue to give every necessary support to the contractors.

Mr Fokuo pledged the Government’s determination to bring development to the people and transform the socio-economic conditions.
