Women not created as an after thought - Benyiwa-Doe

Gomoa Pinanko (C/R), Oct. 31, GNA - The MP for Gomoa West, Mrs Ama Benyiwa-doe, has called on males to stop regarding females as an "after-thought creation since females will not accept that assertion". Mr Benyiwa-Doe said God created females as "helpmates" but not as "helpmaids to males", and urged males to stop exerting too much authority over females.,

She was speaking at the annual conference of the Pinanko Circusit of the Methodist Women's Fellowship at Goma Pinanko/ Mrs Benyiwa-Doe exhorted women who are Christians to emulate Mary, Esther, Ruth and some women who performed creditably during the life and after the dealth of Jesus Christ.

"You should not read the Bible for reading sake but let the lessons in it be your guide", the MP advised.

Earlier, the MP had participated in the celebvration of annual Akwambo festivals of people of Pinanko, Osedze and Mankoadze. At Pinanko, she donated two million cedis towards a computer laboratory the youth are establishsing.

At Mankoadze, where the people decided to establish a vocational training institute, Mrs Benyiwa-Doe advised the youth to their destiny into their own hands. "This is the time for you to determine what you want to be in future", she said.

The MP expressed concern about the attitude of the youth whi did not want to receive skill training in their localities and cautioned that life was "not all that rosy in the cities" as they may believe.
