Women bonded to be of good behaviour for stealing mushrooms

Cape Coast Sept. 4, GNA- A Cape Coast Magistrate's court presided over by Mr Peter Asare-Duah, on Thursday bonded three women from Hemang to be of good behaviour for twelve months for stealing mushrooms from the Twifo Oil Palm Plantation (TOPP).

Gladys Yeboah, Georgina Kyei and Beatrice Tawiah, all casual workers of TOPP, pleaded guilty and will each go to prison for six months in default of the bond.

Police Chief Inspector Henry Tanor told the court that on August 30, this year at about 0620 hrs, security guards at TOPP who were on their usual patrols found the women harvesting mushrooms at the plantation, which had been declared a restricted area and arrested them.
