Woman Stalls MP’s Dev. Project

A resident of Asuom, a town under the Kade Constituency in the Eastern Region, Madam Afua Amoanimaa has dashed the Member of Parliament for the area’s dream of putting up a market complex for the Asuom residents.

Madam Amoanimaa stalled the market project by suing the chief of Asuom, Nana Ofosuhene Appenteng and the MP for allegedly constructing on a land which she claims belongs to the Yaw Agyei family of Asuom.

The plaintiff avers that the plot of land in question used to be the location of the house of her grand uncle, Yaw Agyei, which had to be pulled down by family because of dilapidation, danger to human beings.

She continued that the family was since using the place as a market place, as they traded on tables, and therefore sought perpetual injunction to restrain the MP for dealing with the said parcel of land on any way whatsoever.

Meanwhile, the Kade Constituency executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has condemned the decision of Madam Amoanimaa for placing a court injunction on the market project in a news conference last Wednesday.
