Winneba police impounds suspected stolen vehicle

Gomoa-Okyereko (C/R), May 26, GNA- The Winneba police have impounded a Nissan Vannet bus suspected to be a stolen vehicle. The Winneba District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police Nicholas Gasu told the Ghana News Agency at Okyereko, near Winneba on Tuesday.

ASP Gasu said on April 20 this year, the Motor, Maintenance and Traffic Unit (MMTU) of the police saw the vehicle being driven by a driver who gave his name as Emmanuel Aidoo at a point near Okyereko. Mr Gasu said when Aidoo was asked to produce documents covering the vehicle, he said they were with the vehicle owner, whose name he failed to mention at Ekutsi.

He said the police requested Aidoo to go and bring the documents but has not yet returned.

When enquiries were made at the Vehicle Examination and Licensing Department (VELD) office at Koforidua, it came to light that the vehicle belong to one Eric Agyeman of house Number E3 Adweso Estate, Koforidua, he added.

ASP Gasu therefore requested Mr Agyeman to come for the vehicle.
