Wassamanhene calls for peace among his people

Asankrangwa (W/R), Aug 21, GNA- Nana Anyani Buadum III, Omanhene of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area has called for peaceful co-existence among the people because peace and harmony are the pre-requisites for development.

He said the people have not benefited from the exploitation of rich natural resources of the area and urged the government not to relent in the efforts to provide the people with facilities such as good roads, potable water, health and education.

Nana Buadum was addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of the area at Asankrangwa on Tuesday. It was organised to formally welcome the Omanhene back home after a one-year medical treatment in the United States.

The Omanhene said the upgrading of the Manso Amenfi-Asankrangwa road into a first class road was in fulfilment of "a long cherished dream" of the people and expressed the hope that it would be extended to Enchi to facilitate the movement of goods and services. He expressed the traditional council's support for the government's efforts to improve education in the area.
