Isaac Adjei-Mensah, the Member of Parliament for the Wassa East Constituency, has donated items worth GHC35,000 to health facilities, lorry stations, markets and selected communities to help curb the spread of COVID-19 in the area.

The items included, 170 Veronica buckets, 3,360 hand sanitizers, 125 bottles of liquid soup, five Infrared thermometer guns and 102 boxes of medicated soup.

Presenting the items, Mr. Mensah advised the people to adhere to all the directives and precautionary measures given by the President, so as to protect themselves and the public from contracting the virus.

He also called on them to use carbolic soap, which he stressed was the best to fight the virus, adding that the only way they could fight the disease was by breaking the chain of infection.

"Let us continue to adhere to the laid down protocols by regularly washing our hands with soap under running water, using sanitizers, observing social distancing and to report to the necessary authorities in case of any form of suspected case of COVID-19".

Dr. Kofi Setherland, District Health Director for Wassa East who received the items, expressed his profound gratitude to the MP for the kind gesture in the wake of the pandemic.

He pledged that his outfit would make sure the items were distributed to all health facilities in the district.
