Wassa Asomdwoe cries for help

The people of Wassa Asomdwoe in the Wassa Amenfi East District, Western region of Ghana are crying for help from the government in terms of educational infrastructure development.

Speaking to Kasapreko FM during a tour to the community, the people who are predominantly farmers said they have been left out by government in the sharing of the national cake after they were promised heaven to vote for the Mahama-led government.

The community, which is lacking basic social amenities, has strived to build their own classroom with communal labour to cater for their children’s education from nursery to class six but has now become a death trap for pupils due to bad weather.

That situation, the residents indicated, has driven a lot of the school children out of school.

They were also not happy about the bad state of their road and thus urged government to rehabilitate the road for easy transporting of farm produce to the various market centres.

They said the activities of small scale miners have degraded their fertile lands and polluted water bodies making life extremely difficult.

They therefore appealed to government to come to their aid.
