Volta Region marks independence anniversary

The Volta Regional Minister, Mad Helen Ntoso, said on Friday that at 58, Ghana “is still a work in progress” and expressed the hope that “58 years from now our children and grandchildren, will look back on our effort and be thankful that we kept the faith”.

She said this at the 58th Independence Parade in Ho under the theme “Achieving Transformation Through National Unity.”

A total of 1,820 pupils and students, 850 men and 18 officers of the security services were on parade.

Activities at the Jubilee Park got off at 08:53 hours and ended by 10:45 hours.

Mad Ntoso spoke about the country’s successes and challenges of the country and called and said Ghanaians should always put the nation first.

She appealed to those in leadership positions to to “continually focus on selfless service, duty and responsibility to the next generation”.

She called on the people of the Volta Region to make the National Sanitation Day, slated for Saturday March 7, a memorable success.
