...for reforms in the education sector
Kpeve, Dec. 3, GNA- Togbi Agbi Nani IV, Mankrado of Kpeve Traditional area on Saturday congratulated the government for introducing the capitation grant and the school-feeding programme and urged parents to seize the opportunity and send their children and wards to school. He said the programme has enabled the poor to send their wards to school, adding that more classroom blocks was needed to admit the increasing number of children who are now being admitted into the public schools.

Togbi Agbi Nani was speaking at a grand durbar of chiefs and people to mark the climax of the celebration of this year's Zendo Glimetsoza of the people of Kpeve, Klefe, Tsibu, Klikor and Tsoxor at Kpeve in the South Dayi District.

The festival, which is celebrated annually rotates within the five towns (Kleviawo) to remember their flee from Klifeme in Notsie Glime in Togo from the tyranny of King Argokoli.

The occasion brings the communities together to raise funds to assist each other in their development efforts.

Togbi Agbi Nani commended the government for creating the South Dayi District Assembly with its capital at Kpeve.

He however, expressed concern over the administrative problem facing the two Kpeve towns and urged government to leave no stone unturned to solve it to enhance the development of the newly created District.

" It is sad to say that a small town like Kpeve is politically divided to serve two administrative districts, while Kpeve Old town is under South Dayi District Assembly, Kpeve New town is under the Hohoe District, Newtown is only separated from the Oldtown by a gutter, we are calling for the re-demarcation of the Districts and electoral areas next year to bring the two sister towns under the South Dayi District, " he stated Togbi Agbi Nani added that the separation in the political administration of the people who are under one traditional rule threatens the cultural unionism of the people and their total identity.

Togbi Agbi Nani expressed gratitude to government for the developmental projects going on in all the Zendo towns, especially the interventions in the educational sector.

Mrs. Woryram Boakye-Danquah, South Dayi District Chief Executive said it remained the number one agenda of the New Patriotic Party to ensure the socio-economic development of all communities, irrespective of their political affiliation.

She announced that Kpeve would soon see a major facelift befitting a district capital.

Mrs. Boakye-Danquah said Kpeve township roads would soon be tarred and potable water connected to Kpeve and all its surrounding towns. She said workers' quarters were also being constructed to accommodate workers who would be posted to the area, while telecommunication networks were being worked on.

Mrs. Boakye-Danquah enumerated a number of projects being undertaken in all the Zendo towns by the government and urged them to support government programmes for the rapid development of the area.
