Three people have been killed and two others injured following a brutal gun attack at Binduri Sakpari Natinga in the Binduri District of the Upper East Region on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

The assailants reportedly invaded a residence around 6:30 p.m., opening fire on occupants. The landlord and two students died instantly, while two others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Garu Hospital for treatment.

Speaking to journalist Atungo Iddrisu Kassim, the Chief of Sakpari, Naba Salafu Akolbilla, condemned the government’s handling of the escalating insecurity in the area.

He accused some military personnel deployed to Binduri of worsening the situation rather than restoring calm.

“The way the government is handling the issues in Binduri is worrisome. We suspect that the military stationed here is adding friction to kill us. Something must be done about it,” the chief lamented.

He called on the authorities to launch a swift investigation into the role of the security forces in the district and take decisive steps to protect residents.

Meanwhile, rising insecurity has forced the closure of schools in the area. In a separate development, the residence of the Member of Parliament for the area was reportedly set ablaze by unknown gunmen, deepening fears among residents.

The spate of violence has left the Binduri community tense and on edge, as locals continue to call for urgent government intervention to restore peace.
