US NGO presents textbooks to Kasei basic schools

Kasei (Ash), May 31, GNA - A United States based non-governmental organization, Brothers and Sisters in Christ (BASIC), has donated textbooks valued at GH¢2,908.90 to the Kasei Anglican Primary and Junior High Schools (JHS).

The Right Reverend Dr Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, Anglican Bishop of Kumasi and Dr John Oduro Boateng, a Trustee of the NGO, presented the books at a ceremony at Kasei near Ejura.

The Organization had over the past five years been assisting the two schools through scholarship awards, supply of stationery and uniforms. It has additionally built a block of three classrooms for the JHS= .. The NGO has supported the Ejuraman Senior High School (SHS) and had made available to it science equipment. Rt. Rev. Dr Yinkah Sarfo praised the organization for the tremendous contribution it was making towards the promotion of education in the Ejura area and said the people would continue to remain grateful.

He urged the school children to take advantage of the books and work hard to improve their academic performance. Dr Boateng appealed to the teachers to be dedicated to the job of nurturing and training the children to grow into responsible adults.
