UNAG organises peace walk

Takoradi, July 1, GNA- Mr Joe Bunluuro, a former Presiding Member of the Shama-Ahanta-East Metropolitan Assembly, on Tuesday advised Ghanaians to do politics that would ensure the development of the country.

Mr Bunluuro was addressing the Effiakuma branch of the United Nations Association of Ghana (UNAG) after a 10-kilometre peace march to commemorate the country's 43rd Republic Day anniversary and the United Nations International Co-operative Day (UNICD).

He said politics should unite rather than divide the country particularly at this time when the country was trying to find its feet economically. He urged Ghanaians to have the nation at heart and to assist in the implementation of development programmes.

Mr Bunluuro cautioned the members against using the association for political purposes and said this would turn the attention of the association from its noble objective of explaining and supporting UN programmes. Mr Jacob Ghansah, Western Regional Secretary of the Ghana Red Cross Society, stressed the need for Ghanaians to tolerate each other to promote peace.
