Two communities to have small water systems

Bomfa (Ash), Sept 5, GNA- The government is to provide two towns in the Ejisu-Juaben District, Bomfa and Adumasa, with small-scale water systems at a cost of 1.6 billion cedis each.

Mr Yaw Ahenkora Afrifa, the District Chief Executive, said the government would bear 90 percent of the cost, the district assembly will contribute five percent and the towns will each pay the remaining five percent.

Addressing separate durbars of chiefs and people of Bomfa and Adumasa he said the assembly will build a 300- million-cedi market at Adumasa.

Mr Philip Ampadu, the Assistant District Planning Officer, told the towns that they would have to decide how much to sell the water to be able to raise funds to maintain the system.

Nana Boakye Yiadom II, the Akwamuhene of Bomfa, commended the government and the district assembly for approving the project and gave the assurance that they will pay their contribution.

Mr Adu Sarkodie, the assemblyman for Adumasa, expressed appreciation to the assembly for the facility and gave the assurance that they will provide communal labour to ensure early completion of the project. 05 Sept. 03
