Two casket makers donate casket for burial of Ennin

Kumasi, Feb 21, GNA - Two casket makers in Kumasi have jointly donated a 10 million-cedi casket for the internment of the Mr Samuel Ennin, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) who was shot dead by unknown assailants.

Mr. Bonzee Ayovor and Douglas Aninkora, owners of Modern Casket Trading and Andy Furniture respectively, made the donation. In a statement issued in Kumasi on Wednesday and signed by Ntim Duodu, the Public Relations Officer for the donors, the donors said the killing of Mr Ennin moved them and the only way they could show their sympathy was through the donation.

The donors made a similar donation when the three urologists from Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital died on their way from Sunyani. The also donated one for the burial of late football star, Ofei Ansah.

They appealed to the GJA and journalists not to be cowed by the killing and to continue to perform their watchdog role of exposing wrongdoing in the society.
