Two NGOs build classrooms in Assin North

Assin Wurakese (C/R), Oct. 22, GNA - Two non-governmental organisations, PM International based in Germany and World Vision, Ghana, have jointly built three classroom blocks to be used as kindergartens for three communities in the Assin-North municipality. The beneficiary communities are Assin-Wurakese, Assin- Homaho and Armah Camp and they provided communal labour for the projects. Inaugurating the buildings at separate ceremonies on Tuesday Mrs Irene Euler), representative of PM International, said the aim of the organisation was to help people to live healthier and better lives and that it was also assisting World Vision Ghana with 300 projects. Mr Kwabena Karkari Apau, the Municipal Chief Executive, commended the NGOs for providing the buildings and promised that the assembly would provide furniture. He urged PM International to also assist World Vision to provide a Senior High School to cater for people in the three communities. Mr Alex Okyere, Assin Foso Area Development Programme Manager (ADP) of World Vision, expressed appreciation to PM International for supporting his organisation to provide the facilities for the children. 22 Oct 08
