Traditional leader commends Bassa Traditional Council

Yeji (B/A), Dec. 23, GNA - Pemampem Yaw Kabrese IV, Omanhene of Yeji Traditional Area and Vice-President of Brong-Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs= , has congratulated the Bassa Traditional Council for the peaceful installation of Nana Owusu-Sakyi III as Omanhene of the area to succeed the late Nana Wiridu Denteh II.

Pemampem Yaw Kabrese said in a statement that the chiefs, elders and people of Bassa area needed to be commended for sticking to the rules of tradition for the peaceful installation of the chief 93at a time that chieftaincy problems are rife in Brong-Ahafo Region". He urged them to keep the truth of tradition in order to unite the people to move the area forward and appealed to Nana Owusu-Sakyi to cooperate with and show respect for chiefs in his area and in Sene District as a whole.

Pemampem Yaw Kabrese said the Bassa experience would help the Regional House of Chiefs to expedite action in solving chieftaincy disputes in the region.

He appealed to sister traditional areas in the district, namely Nkomi and Dwan 93to follow the example of the Bassa chiefs to install their chie= fs peacefully to pave way for accelerated development". He cautioned them against what he called monocracy and appealed to the chiefs to stick to traditional rules. Pemampem Yaw Kabrese commended Nana Owusu Acheaw Brempong II, Omanhene of Atebubu Traditional Area who was assigned by the Regional House of Chief= s to help solve the Bassa chieftaincy problem for his exhibition of exemplary leadership skills that resulted in the peaceful installation to end the one-year problem.
