Traditional Ruler calls for tolerance among Ghanaians for peaceful elections

Kuoro Barecheh Nlowie Baninye II, Chief of Niator in the Sissala West District, has appealed to all Ghanaians to be tolerant of each other’s views in order to make the 2012 general elections a peaceful one.

He said this year’s election was full of anxiety and called on all especially politicians, to start preparing themselves to accept the outcome of the elections in good faith without fomenting any trouble.

Kuoro Barecheh Nlowie Baninye, who is also the Acting President of the Buwa Traditional Council, made the call during the enskinment of Kuoro Zakaria Ventuo as the new chief of Pepilime.

He urged politicians, religious leaders, traditional rulers and opinion leaders to start preaching peace so that Election 2012 would not jeopardize the peace that Ghanaians are enjoying.

Kuoro Barecheh Nlowie Baninye congratulated Kuoro Zakaria Ventuo for his enskinment and urged him to work hard to ensure that he sustained peace among his people for the development of the community.

He said politicians were marginalizing chiefs but later turned round to criticize them for not doing enough to sustain peace in their communities and appealed to politicians to work hand in hand with traditional rulers to promote peace and development.

He commended the government for giving the Buwa Traditional Area several education infrastructures and appealed for improvement of roads and extension of electricity to communities that have not yet been connected.**
