Trader donates equipment to Bold Eagle club

Akim Oda, (E/R), Dec 16, GNA - An Akim Oda businesswoman, Madam Mercy Tetteh has presented a set of jersey and footballs worth GH 45.00 cedis to a local juvenile football team, Bold Eagles at Akim Oda. She pledged to donate more equipment to the club and expressed the hope that the players would train hard to qualify for every competition that they participate in.

Madam Tetteh called on the youth to show keen interest in sports to make the District, now elevated to a Municipal status, to produce sportsmen and sportswomen.

Mr. Samuel Bampo, Team Manager of the Club who received the items on behalf of the executives and players of the club, commended Madam Tetteh for the gesture.

He said that if women would keenly follow sporting activities with their numbers and understand the rules and share in the difficulties faced by managers in handling players, they would be placed to assist in sports development.

Mr. Bampo said even though the team was recently formed, it has so far won most of its matches.

He gave the assurance that the players would reciprocate the gesture by training hard to qualify for any competition. The Manager appealed to sports enthusiasts in the area to emulate the gesture of Madam Tetteh to donate more sports equipment to the Club. In a friendly encounter, Bold Eagles and Iron Breakers played in a highly contested game to draw 4 - 4 all. 16 Dec. 07
