Tourism Fellowship gives to Frafraha orphanage

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) Christian Fellowship, has donated assorted gifts worth Ghc1,800, to the Christ Faith Foster Home at Frafraha in the Greater Accra Region.

This forms part of the fellowship’s charity programme for the yuletide.

The items are rice, maize, drinks, bread, chocolates, gari, cooking oil, fruits, soap, biscuits and second hand clothing.

Presenting the items on behalf of the fellowship, Mrs Abigail Patricia Kwashie, said the gesture was aimed at ensuring that members extend their support to the orphanage to show love and compassion to the deprived.

“It is also aimed at providing the children with good health and to strengthen the relationship and commitment of the fellowship to the home and share a joy of the Christmas with them as part of our social responsibility,” she said.

Mrs Kwashie said since the fellowship depends on well wishes to support its works, it is developing a fund-raising strategy as part of its activities to donate to the less privileged homes annually.

“Children are the future of the country’s economic and social growth, and there is the need to nurture them to become useful citizens.”

Madam Henrietta A. Agyeman, Supervisor of the home expressed her appreciation to the Tourism Christian Fellowship for the gesture.

She said at the moment the home has 35 children- 27 boys and eight girls from seven to 19 and are being provided with free education and healthcare.

She appealed to non-governmental organisations to come to the aid of the orphanage to enable it take good care of the children.
