Tinkong JHS appeals for help to establish a computer laboratory

Tinkong (E/R), July 11, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Aziatsi, Headmaster of the Tinkong D/A Junior High School, at the weekend appealed to philanthropists and non-governmental organizations to assist the school to build a computer laboratory.

He said the project was very important to enhance effective teaching and leaning.

Mr Aziatsi made the appeal at the Open-Day and Fund Raising ceremony in aid of a computer laboratory for the school.

He said the school also lacked water and toilet facilities, which he observed was a major problem.

Mr Aziatsi appealed to the New Juaben Municipal Assembly to assist them to provide accommodation for staff of the school.

Mr Ben B. Cronze, Akuapem North District Director of Education, observed that Information and Communication Technology (I.C.T) enables education to be tailored to individual learning needs and abilities.

He noted that apart from computer and the internet as tools of I.C.T, all other forms of technology that were utilized to transmit, process, store, create, display and share information by electronic means were also classified as tools of I.C.T.

Mr William O. Boafo, Member of Parliament for Akropong, promised to allocate GH¢ 20,000 of next year's GetFund benefits the school for development.
