Three schools score zero percent at BECE in Nkwanta District

Nkwanta (V/R), Oct. 10, GNA - Three out of the total 46 schools from the Nkwanta District that took part in the last Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) scored zero percent.

They are Tutukpene Local Authority (L.A.), Kabiti L.A. and Pawa L.A. Junior High School (JHS).

Three other schools, Adom Model, Kabonwuli and New Life JHSs scored 100 percent in the examinations and the overall district performance stood at 52 percent.

Mr Cornelius Akorlie, Nkwanta District Examination Officer, in an interview with the GNA said 600 candidates obtained between aggregate six and 30, while 545 obtained aggregate 30 and above.

He said 503 were qualified and placed under the computerized schools selection system adding that 55 candidates also qualified but were not placed.

Mr Akorlie said 44 candidates who qualified but scored grade seven in one or two subjects were also unplaced.

He said the District presented 1,157 candidates for the BECE out of which 12 did not turn up for the exams.
