Three people die in motor accident

Nyinahin (Ash), Nov 30, GNA - Three people, including a four-month old baby, died at the Bibiani Government Hospital shortly after admission when the vehicle on which they were travelling from Kumasi to Kwapong in the Brong-Ahafo region skidded off the road and ran into the bush at Antwi-Adjei near Nyinahin on Monday.

Twenty other passengers in the vehicle sustained various degrees of injuries and were receiving treatment at the hospital. The other deceased were identified as Opanin Kwadwo Dowe, 50, Opanin Kofi Brefo, 45.

An eyewitness told the Ghana News Agency at Antwi-Adjei that the driver lost control and the vehicle plunged into the bush at Antwi-Adjei junction, after one of its rear tyres burst.

A similar accident occurred on the same stretch of the road last week in which many passengers were injured. Mr Charles Kofi Adu, Assistant Superintendent of Police in-charge of the Nyinahin police confirmed the accidents.
