Three people die in motor accident

Akorabuokrom (Ash), Dec 9, GNA - Three people, including a 19-year-old student of Fijai Secondary School in Sekondi died on the spot when the vehicle on which they were travelling hit a tipper truck at Akorabuokrom in Ashanti on Tuesday night.

The dead student has been identified as Miss Elizabeth Adjei but the remaining two have not yet been identified.

Those who were seriously injured were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi for treatment.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Akorakrom near Nyinahin, Nana Asiama Yeboah, Nkosuohene of the town and an eyewitness, said a Mercedez Benz mini bus was travelling from Kumasi towards Bibiani in the Western region.

He said on reaching the outskirts of the town, a tipper truck with one light on, suddenly crossed the road and as a result the bus rammed into it killing the three people on the spot. Meanwhile, the body of Miss Adjei has been deposited at KATH, while the remaining two are at the Bibiani Government Hospital.
