Thieves invade Akuse Hospital; Police arrest one

Management of Akuse Government Hospital has expressed worry over the increasing invasion of the Hospital by thieves stealing belongings of patients, and staff as well as other properties of the hospital.

Recently a nurse on night duty was attacked by an intruder who came to steal from a Hospital ward.

Upon receipt of the information, the Akuse District commander Superintendent Winfred Asare- Nyarko led a team of Policemen to the hospital.

Intelligence information picked by Police led to the arrest of one of the suspects, Micheal Addo,20, who lives in an old structure close to the Hospital.

A search conducted in his room led to the retrieval of a blue Black Overall Police Uniform, a pair of scissors, plier, screwdriver, hummer, three unserviceable mobile phones and one SICCO mobile. Other items found were six packs of RYLE’S TUBE and bundles of infusion tubes belonging to Akuse Government Hospital.

The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh told Kasapa News, the Suspect has since been detained to assist in an investigation while the items retained as an exhibit.
