The Akwatiahene, Osabarima Kofi Boateng called for the provision of

additional accommodation for the St Rose's Secondary School and the Akwatia Technical Institute, which required a dormitory block for its female students. He also called on his people to exhibit patriotism and do away with apathy and the "pull-him-down" attitude. He praised Dr Kwasi Darkwa, a Veterinary Surgeon, for putting up a day-care centre for the Local Authority Primary School at Akwatia.
