Tertiary institutions hold cooking contest

The second edition of the exciting cooking contest amongst tertiary institutions dubbed "2015 Cook2Save" will take place at the Hilla Limann Hall, University of Ghana on the afternoon of Saturday, February 7.

Cooking sumptuous dishes this year are ladies from University of Ghana, University of Professional Studies, Zenith University College, College of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management and Marshalls University, supported by top chefs from some of the finest hotels in the capital such as Alisa Hotel, Best Western Premier, Tulip-Inn, Novotel and African Regent.

A release from the event's organisers copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) Monday, said patrons will be expected to sample all meals prepared by the five competing institutions and then vote with their coupons for the institution with the best meal. The institution with the most votes wins the 2015 COOK2SAVE competition and will receive prizes from sponsors.

Some of the country’s celebrated artistes such as IWAN alongside emerging talents like Predy X Omane, Don-Itchi and 2012 Talented Kids champion Malaika will entertain patrons.

An initiate of Rite Multimedia, this year’s competition will benefit New Horizon Special School in Accra. The last edition saw the Teshie orphanage benefiting from proceeds generated from the event.

The 2015 edition of ‘Cook2Save’ contest is sponsored by Prestige Commodities Ghana, importers of Three Dolphins Rice, Banchee Rice, and TMT Tomato Paste with support from Binatone, Indomie Instant Noodles, Platinum Orthodontist Services, Volta Catch and powered by Rite Multimedia.

Media partners for the event include TV3, E-TV-Ghana, TV Africa, UTV, GH One, Starr FM, Peace FM, Citi FM, and Joy FM.
