Tema Ebenezer Methodist Men's fellowship donates to James Camp prison

Accra, May 23, GNA- The Men's Fellowship (MF) of the Tema Community 20 Ebenezer Methodist Church has donated various food items to the James Camp prison in Accra. The items included rice, sugar, cooking oil, yam, bread, laundry soap and detergents. Mr. Baah Acheampong, Vice Chairman and leader of the visiting delegation, said the donation was part of the fellowship's outreach programme to share the gospel and see to the needs of the under privileged in society. He said the fellowship which is made up of men in the church, would in the near future intensify its efforts at donating to places such as prisons and orphanages where inmates are in desperate need of both spiritual and material upliftment.

Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Azaloo, Officer in charge of the camp, thanked the fellowship and said the items would be put to good use. Earlier, Mr. Yaw Elijah Danso, Chaplain of the Fellowship, who delivered a sermon, asked the inmates to meditate on the word of God and seek a new genuine and positive change in their lives He said: "Your incarceration should rather draw you closer to God. When all your relatives and even those who told you that they love so much have deserted you, Jesus stands at the door of your heart knocking and waiting for you to open."

Mr. Danso called on the inmates to build up confidence as they prepare for opportunities which abounds when there is genuine repentance and a renewed mind. Several inmates responded to an altar call for initiation into Christian life.
