Techiman Municipal Assembly Evaluates 2011

, Assesses Prospects For 2012

The Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman, Hon., Alex Kyeremeh has made a passionate call to members of the Techiman Municipal Assembly as well as the general public to endeavor to demand facts and explanations concerning issues that beat their understanding and avoid speculations.

The municipal chief Executive, who was addressing the third ordinary meeting of the sixth Techiman Municipal Assembly held last Thursday at the Bonokyempem Hall, also urged the people to be patient since most of the projects they were requesting were already in the process of being awarded.

He mentioned the construction of a nurses and midwifery training school structure, two CHP compounds, a small town water supply system at Aworowa, four mechanized boreholes and seventy four others under construction as well as more than eight public toilet facilities all over the municipality as some accomplishments under health, water and sanitation.

Hon. Alex Kyeremeh also mentioned at least sixty completed education related projects, mostly classroom and dormitory blocks.

He mentioned also that Techiman is doing very well in the areas of waste management, adding that over 39,000 tons of solid waste has been evacuated within a short period of procuring tipper trucks and other waste removal equipment for the Assembly.
He went on to mention projects under the road sector, electrification, poverty reduction, security, Agriculture among others.
The Assembly members present took turns congratulating the MCE and the Municipal Assembly on their unprecedented delivery.
The new Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. C.K Donduo and other new members of staff were introduced to the Assembly.
The Presiding member, Hon. Adjei Mensah who moderated the meeting was full of praise for the Assembly members and urged them to continue to cooperate with the administrators of the Assembly in order to achieve the needed development for Techiman and its people.
