Teachers urged to give of their best

Techiman (B/A), April 28, GNA - Mr James Edjei Biney, Techiman Municipal Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), has urged teachers to give of their best in the implementation of the new educational reforms.

He said, despite the current challenging conditions facing teachers, the success of the new reforms largely rested with them. Addressing 30 newly elected GNAT executives from the municipality at Techiman on Monday, Mr Biney asked teachers to live above reproach and to maintain their dignity as good role models and responsible persons.

He said at present GNAT's leadership was negotiating for better conditions of service for members and appealed to teachers to exercise restraint.

Mr Biney called on the local GNAT executives to share information about the association's activities with members always for the unified the Association.

Welcoming participants to the workshop, Mr Joachim Faara, Municipal Chairman of the Assembly advised them to work as a team which was needed to promote the welfare of the Association.

"As leaders you should set good examples for your subordinates to follow because you command great respect in the communities you serve", he said.
