Teachers asked to interact with students at home

Dotobaa, (B/A) Oct. 7, GNA - Mr. Karim Wiafe-Ababio, Assemblyman for Dotobaa Electoral Area in the Nkoranza District of the Brong-Ahafo Region, has advised teachers to organise regular visits to their students in their homes to promote the rappour for academic excellence. He said such a practice would also instill discipline in the students.

Mr. Wiafe-Ababio gave the advice when he interacted with teachers at the Dotobaa community on Friday.

He said regular interactions between teachers and students also built the confidence of parents in the education system and leads to mutual trust and respect.

Mr. Wiafe-Ababio urged students to accord respect to their teachers to create the conduisive atmosphere for teaching and learning. He also cautioned them against anti-social behaviour that could undermine their strive for academic excellence.

Mr. Wiafe-Ababio urged the teachers not to engage in active politics while on duty since it could have an adverse effect on academic work. Mr. Wiafe-Ababio expressed his gratitude to the Government and the World Bank for introducing a free education in the Nkoranza District for five years.
