Tarkwa Nsueam Municipal Assembly organizes clean-up exercise

The Tarkwa NsueamAssembly has organized a six-hour clean-up exercise to keep the Municipalityclean in order to prevent the outbreak of cholera.

Hundreds of residents at Bogoso Junction,Tarkwa Main Lorry Station, Karekwanano, Tamso Junction and Tarkwa market weededand swept their surroundings and desilted gutters.

The Municipal Environmental officer, Mr.Emmanuel Kudor, who supervised the exercise, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA)in an interview that the clean-up exercise was aimed at improving thedeteriorating sanitation situation in the municipality.

Hesaid tipper trucks were deployed at vantage points to collect waste materialsgathered during the exercise to the dumping site and commended people in themunicipality for actively participating in the exercise despite inadequateinputs.

The Municipal Chief Executive of TarkwaNsueam, Mrs. Christina Kobinah, who also participated in the exercise called onthe people to ensure that their environment and work places were clean.
