The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency of the Western Region, Hon. George Mireku-Duker has cut the sod for the construction of three developmental projects identified to improve the lives of his constituents.

The establishment of these projects is in fulfilment of his 2016 electioneering campaign pledge made to the beneficiary Communities.

At Nyaso Community

On day one of his two-day familiarization tour in the Constituency which started on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, he cut the sod for the commencement of a three-unit classroom block for Nyaso Community.

Speaking at a short ceremony, the MP thanked the Chief and people for releasing land for such an important project.

He, therefore, said the project would go a long way to motivate parents to send their wards to school.

Hon. Duker charged the contractor to work hard to complete the project on schedule.

He also urged the contractor to engage the locals in the labour works as a way of creating temporal employment for them.

Hon. Duker pleaded with the Chief and elders to support the contractor to complete the project on time.

He seized the opportunity to urge the parents of the farming community to invest in their children's education and advised them to encourage them to take their studies seriously.

The Member of Parliament then proceeded to cut the sod for the construction of a Concrete Water Storage Tank for the good people of Dompim Community.

Dompim Community has been in dire need of potable water for so many years as a result of deterioration of their Water Storage Tank which serves more than 5,000 people.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Mireku-Duker assured the good people of Dompim Community of timely completion of the project.

He said water is life and therefore he would do anything possible to support the contractor to complete the project on schedule. He, therefore, charged the Community folk to support the contractor to execute the project.

At Essaman Kakraba Community

The MP ended day one of his two-day familiarization tour at Essaman Kakraba Community where he cut the sod for the commencement of an ultra-modern Community Center.

The MP once seized the opportunity to appeal to the people in the community to rally behind the Akufo-Addo-led Government to develop Ghana and for that matter Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency.

He also seized the opportunity to explain some of the Akufo-Addo-led government programmes to the people and urged them to embrace them for their own gains.

"I like to use this opportunity to appeal to you to support what President Akufo-Addo is doing in the country, as I speak to you, President Akufo-Addo is fulfilling most of his key 2016 campaign promises, President Akufo-Addo is implementing Free SHS policy, Planting for food and jobs, One million dollar per each Constituency, One District One Factory among others. Let us all rally behind President Akufo-Addo to complete his promises by voting for him again in 2020", he stated.

The Chiefs and elders of the beneficiary communities thanked Hon. George Mireku Duker for his continual efforts in pushing for developmental projects for them.

The Member of Parliament was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, Hon. Gilbert Asmah, some staff of the Assembly, the NPP Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency Executive, the media among others.
