Some pastors in the Tamale Metropolis preached the messages of peace and unity during various sermons to their congregations to usher in the New Year.

Some of the churches the GNA visited were filled to capacity where they sung praises to God for living to complete another year.

The Reverend Jeremiah Issahaku, the Senior Pastor of the Impact Makers Assemblies of God Church in Tamale advised Christians and Ghanaians in general to emulate the life of Christ who died on the cross for the sake of sins of mankind.

He said if Ghanaians allow love to fill their hearts and remained each other’s keeper, the nation would progress in unity.
Reverend Andrew Okyere, Head pastor of the Church of Pentecost in Tamale has urged his church to remain in God's love as they cross over to 2018.

He said God loved mankind and sent his only son to die for the sins of mankind and also demonstrated his own love for sinners by dying for all.

“God loves us the same way he loves his own son. Yes may you come to know his love although it can never be fully known and so be completely filled with the very nature of God.”

He added that "as the father has loved me so have I loved you, now remain in my love" was a demonstration of God’s love for mankind.
