Tain DCE supports communities with building materials

Lawyer Charity Akua Oforiwaa Dwommoh, the District Chief Executive for Tain in the Brong Ahafo region has supported some communities in the Tain District with building materials worth about Ghc10,000.00 to support community self-help projects in the district.

The initiative was to encourage the various communities in the district to undertake their own projects while the assembly provide them with the needed technical and material support.

The DCE said any community in the district that would identify their projects needs and then mobilize resources to start such projects would definitely attract support from the district assembly.

The DCE later distributed 70 bags of cement and 12 packets of iron sheets whiles three communities received cash to communities that are undertaking various projects. The projects being undertaken by the beneficiary communities are Teachers accommodation and classroom blocks.

At a ceremony to present the items, the District Chief Executive encourage the public to revive the spirit of community self -help in undertaken projects.

She stated it was about time people become interested in the development of their own communities by undertaking self- help projects to compliment the efforts of government.

She commended the various communities for their voluntarism as it was right step towards the development of the district.

The communities include Pokukrom, Debibi, Namasa, Nkwanta, Aseakrom, Asekrom, Hiamankyene, Bepoayase and Nkrankrom.
