Sunyani East MP assists schools and education directorate with computers

The MP for Sunyani East, Hon Kwasi Ameyaw Cheremeh, has donated 11 desk top
computers valued at GHc9, 900 to some selected schools in the Sunyani East
Constituency.

The beneficiary schools are the Sunyani Presby Junior High School ‘A’ and ‘B’ and
one other school at Atronie near Sunyani. The Sunyani Municipal education
directorate also received one computer and accessories.

Presenting the computers, Hon. Ameyaw Cheremeh charged the students to make very
good use of the facilities since Information Communication Technology (ICT) has now
become an integral part of modern education and the job market.
The MP also tasked ICT teachers to make the teaching and learning computer related
subjects easy and practicable. He again charged the students to use the computers
for productive activities.

Receiving the items on behalf of the schools, the Sunyani Municipal Director of
education, Rev. Canon Kankam Dwomfour, commended the MP for the kind gesture and
observed that because ICT has a key role to play in modern education, the
beneficiary schools must ensure that the facilities are put to good use.

A student of the Sunyani Presby JHS, Rachel Pokuaa, thanked the MP for donating the
computers and pledged on behalf of her colleagues to use them judiciously.
The ICT teacher for the Sunyani Presby B JHS, Mr. Dickson Smith, was glad that the
MP has assisted the schools with the computers .He pointed out that the donation
would greatly enhance the teaching and learning of ICT in the schools.
