Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar communities appeal for road rehabilitation

Dokrochewa (E/R), Aug. 29, GNA – Residents of seven communities in the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District have appealed to the Government to help rehabilitate the Suhum – Dokrochewa feeder road.

The communities include Tetekasu, Oboango, Kwame Kyere and Godziase.

The current state of the road which is used by the farming and fishing communities around the Kua River, has been made worse by the rains and was unreliable.

Mr Mathew Narh, an opinion leader at Dokrochewa, said several appeals to the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District Assembly for assistance have not been successful.

He said the residents through self-help with hoes, spades and cutlasses tried to restore the road but their efforts have been futile.

Mr Narh said attempts by some communities to reshape their portions of the road, had even worsened the situation.
