Students in Ho appeal to Government

Ho, Oct. 17, GNA - Student leaders from Mawuli School, Mawuko Girls, OLA Secondary all in Ho and Awudome Secondary School at Tsito on Monday appealed to Government and stakeholders in education to resolve the strike action by National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT).

They said the strike action had affected discipline in the schools. Master Innocent Afolabi-Logoh, President of Mawuli School Student's Representative Council, speaking on behalf of the group said the strike had in addition, affected registration for the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) next year. Miss Precious Atatsi, School Prefect of Mawuko Girls said students attend classes allegedly being organised by some University and Polytechnic Students in town.

In an answer to a question, Miss Atatsi said she was not aware that some tutors from the school were involved.

Miss Joanna Ahiawordor, OLA Secondary School Prefect said with indiscipline in the schools, a student at Mawuko Girls lost 600,000 cedis being her registration fees.
