Students clean up Nkoranza Anglican University campus

Nkoranza (B/A) Jan. 19, GNA - Mr Augustine Kyeremeh, President of Nkoranza Students Union, has called on opinion leaders in the area to organise the people to pool resources in support of the proposed Anglican University College of Technology project at Nkoranza.

He noted that the project would enable a number of the youth in the area to seek admission into the tertiary institution to improve on their academic pursuit.

Mr Kyeremeh was addressing members of the union and other youth groups= , who undertook a clean up exercise at the site of the University at the weekend. The youth groups included Scholars in Transit, Nkoranza Youth Activist= s and Nkoranza Tourism Society.

The student leader expressed concern that renovation works on building= s for the project had not been completed and urged the communities to organis= e special fund-raising rallies to generate resources for the opening of the University.

Mr Kyeremeh commended the Anglican Church for initiating the project t= o encourage the youth to further their education within their own environment= .. Reverend Peprah Twumasi, Chief Executive Officer of Scholars in Transi= t appealed to well-to-do individuals at Nkoranza and citizens resident abroad to contribute towards the successful implementation of the project. He said Management of the University had indicated that plans were advanced for the enrolment of first-year students this year. Rev Twumasi appealed to Kimtampo North Municipality and Kintampo South District Assemblies to contribute funds in support of the project. 19 Jan. 11
