Stop using phone text messages to defame others- MP

Kumasi, Aug. 14, GNA - Mr Isaac Osei, Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin, has denounced the use of mobile phone text messages to spread rumours about political opponents.

He said the practice was bad and that it was dragging to the mud, the hard won reputation of people.

Mr Osei was addressing the 13th General Congress of the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regional Sector of teacher trainees. "Corrupt behaviour is possible at every level of society and not only those in power and places of authority as perceived by certain people" he said.

The MP said corruption permeates different facets of society and the impression should not be created that it is only politicians who are corrupt.

Mr Nyamekye Marfo, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister urged teacher trainees to accept postings to the rural areas, adding that, the Government was determined to assist to make conditions a bit comfortable for them.

The trainees in a communiqu=E9 called on all stakeholders in the Educational Sector to play their part well to help raise the standard of education in the country. 14 Aug. 09
